Buenos Aires, February 26 (NA) -- The trial for the murder of Kim Gomez, the girl killed in February 2025 in La Plata, will define the sentence against the 18-year-old defendant, who is being tried in Juvenile Responsibility Court No. 1 because he was 17 at the time of the event, and the hearing will take place this February 27, starting at 10 in the morning. The event occurred on February 25, 2025, when the victim was with her mother in the Altos de San Lorenzo neighborhood, where they were robbed by thieves to steal their red Fiat Palio at the corner of 72nd Avenue and 25th Street. According to Noticias Argentinas agency, previously, Florencia Barraza, the mother, testified in the oral and public debate that determines the responsibility of the now 18-year-old young man and recalled the moments before her daughter's murder: the perpetrators forced her to get out of the vehicle, threw her to the ground, and fled at high speed. Kim, who was in the back seat with her seatbelt on, tried to get out, but got caught, so she was dragged for 15 blocks and the suspects abandoned her in the place. The chase ended when the criminals crashed into a light pole, causing the vehicle to fall into a ditch, and they ran to a wasteland before the authorities arrived. In conversation with this medium and after the hearing where five witnesses testified, Marcos Gomez, the girl's father, described the development of the trial as 'hard' and stated: 'It is very difficult to witness all of that'.
